Comune di Serrara Fontana
Ischia Travel Guide
Going uphill from Barano, you'll find the towns of Serrara and Fontana, which together with Sant' Angelo make up this next comune. This area is still full of farmers living off the land. Therefore, it offers a good chance to see a bit of Ischia's agricultural heritage in action. From Serrara, you'll get a splendid view of Maronti. You can also find the paths to Epomeo, Ischia's highest point and a romantic spot for a picnic with your beloved. This comune is also home to Aphrodite, another popular thermal park.
Sant' Angelo
This is where I'd leave you in the good hands of my girlfriend Francesca, who was born in the United States but has Ischitani blood running through her veins. Thanks to her heritage, she has a special rapport with the island, especially Barano, which is the last comune on our tour. Enjoy!
