    Ischia Travel Guide

    Barano
Tourists might flock to Ischia Porto, Ischia Ponte and Forio for a glimpse at the hippest hotels, restaurants and nightclubs on the island. And they certainly will get a dose of glamour and adventure there. But to know the heart and soul of Ischia - and especially its natives - you must go to the towns in the comune of Barano, which include Barano, Buonopane, Piedimonte, Fiaiano, and Testaccio.

    Casamicciola
In this Ischia town, you'll find Bagnitiello, a beach with naturally hot thermal water. It was the town's natural springs that attracted the likes of playwright Henrik Ibsen and Italy unifier Giuseppe Garibaldi.

    Forio
This comune includes the towns of Forio and Panza. Forio gets an hour more sunlight than all the other towns in Ischia and it has long been a place for the rich and famous. Panza is home to D'Ambra Vini, which is the most important and famous winemaker in Ischia.

    Ischia
This comune is split in two parts. Ischia Ponte is home to the famous Castello Aragonese. Ischia Porto is the main hub of the island as well as its capital.

    Lacco Ameno
Lacco Ameno is home to one of the most beautiful and best maintained thermal parks on the island. One of the most fascinating sites is the rock located in the water that is the shape of a giant mushroom.

    Serrara Fontana
The towns of Serrara and Fontana along with Sant' Angelo make up this comune. Serrara and Fontana is where you will find Ishcia's highest point, which makes for a great romantic spot. Sant' Angelo is an old fishing village that is now a hot spot for trendy boutiques and charming restaurants.
