  • Lake Garda Travel Guide

    by Anthony Parente

If you are looking for a place to spend your vacation Lake Garda may be just what you are looking for. It is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. The lake, which is the largest lake in Italy, is located in Northern Italy and lies within the regions of Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto. Its geographic location makes it an ideal spot for vacationers. The area is easily accessible by car, train or plane. It is also ideal for excursions to Verona, Milan or Venice. With the Dolomites to the north, the lake is sheltered from the cold north winds creating a warm climate for the area. The Mediterranean climate allows for a rich vegetation to surround the area. You can find lemon trees, magnolias, oleanders, olive groves and vineyards.

The lake has something for everyone. If you enjoy having an active vacation there are a variety of ways you can achieve this. There are a number of water sports that you can enjoy. Some of these sports include windsurfing, sailing, diving, waterskiing, kite surfing or canyoning. If you don't want to limit yourself to the water you can golf, go mountain biking, camping or hiking. If you are there to just relax you can enjoy sunning on the beaches, taking leisurely walks around the lake or enjoy the thermal spas. If you like to sightsee there are Medieval towns with castles and ancient ruins that will amaze you.

When the sun goes down on the lake don't pack it in and head off to bed. Lake Garda has many great restaurants, bars, clubs and disco techs that you can enjoy into the wee hours of the morning. If you have kids don't worry. There is plenty for them to do as well. In addition to all of the activities mentioned above there are a number of amusement and water parks that they can enjoy. You see, there is something for everyone.

There is more to Lake Garda than what I have mentioned. To help you uncover all that there is to offer at this beautiful Lake I have put together this guide to the area. Enjoy!
