    * Dan was instumental in getting the 24 second clock adopted by professional basketball.

    ** Hank did not play professionally. He revolutionized basketball with the one-handed shot. He became the first player to score 50 points in a college game. In 1950 he was named the second best player of the mid-century.

    + Dino was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1970, but never played in the NBA. He was considered one of the greatest players of his generation. Dino was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.

    ++ Cesare was the first Italian inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994. He is considered by many to be the father of Italian basketball. Cesare was also inducted into the Swimming Hall of Fame making him one of the few athletes to be inducted into more than one hall of fame.
