    Antonio & Dante's Next Adventure

    Tone HiDante Hi
    Hello from Castello di Montebello!

"This castle is awesome Dante! Way less creepy than I thought it would be. Can you believe parents just let their kids walk around here yelling though?"

"Um, Antonio... I think that's our cue to leave."

"What? Why? We just got here."

    "That's no child Antonio, that's a ghost!"

"Dude! You know I'm afraid of little girl ghosts! Let's get out of here!"

Below are just some of the interesting facts about the Castello di Montebello (Montebello Castle).

    • The structure was designed to be a castle and fortress as it provided a military advantage to the Romans
    • The castle was designed in the Medieval-Renaissance using brick
    • Medieval-Renaissance architecture highlights the material cultural aspects of the ancient Greek and Roman societies
    • There is a distinct emphasis on symmetry, proportion, and geometry with this style
    • During World War II, the castle suffered damages
    • The castle has since been restored and is open to the public, offering day and night tours
    • The castle is haunted by the ghost of a 5-year old albino girl who died on June 21, 1375
    • In 1375, albinos were persecuted as it was believed that they were elated to witchcraft. To keep the little girl safe, she was hidden inside the castle.
    • The little girl is known as Azzurrina (Bluish) because of her blue-hued hair
    • There has been a movie adaptation of the legend of Azzurrina
    • Every five years on June 21, Azzurrina returns to let out the sounds of a crying child and even a laugh

"Ciao for now - see you next time for a whole new traveling adventure!"
